Django in the Attic

Every year my town’s performance hall hosts a “Django Fest” bringing musicians who play Django style music into the community where they spend much of the day jamming everywhere and the nights in paid concerts.  Well this year was the first I noticed a call for temporary housing for musicians and decided to learn more about Django Reinhardt’s life.  This means I may have Django in the yard, Django in the attic, and free tickets to the concerts I have never been able to afford!  JOY!  What’s more, the house I am in was built at the same time period.

I am no guitar expert, but if you watch a few clips of Django playing, you quickly see how unbelievably unreal he was.  When he was only 18, he suffered an injury making only 2 of his left hand fingers usable.  Here is his Biography, and watch and listen to this:
