Long Walk

Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe.  ~ Anatole France

I go through a lot of shoes. A few years ago I started embracing being a compulsive distance walker as a way to both raise funds for causes I care about and compensate for my desk job. It is walking meditation for me.

My favorite walk of the past was in June 2015 along the North Oregon Coast. But beauty can be found anywhere.

Some Whidbey walks I took myself on.

09/29/2013: 20 miles in training for CureSearch

11/23/2013: 26 miles and $1,500 for CureSearch. I was financially unable to meet up with an Ultimate Hike team in California, so I created my own marathon distance and completed it solo on Whidbey.  Healing Walk Slide Show

01/18/2015: 18 miles in solidarity with friend raising money for her cancer treatment

10/04/2015: 26 miles – completed first sanctioned marathon, Portland Marathon with Team in Training/Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, raised over $2400

11/29/2015: 14 miles in solidarity with Climate Change Talks in Paris
